Video preview issue
Jan 05, 2017
Hi there,
I wonder if anyone can help. I am creating a project that involves adding shapes and text for emphasis over a video. On my timeline as I move my cue point along my video has been moving to so I can see where I am inserting shapes etc. in time with where they need to be.
The video preview seems to have stopped working. How do I switch this feature back on?

Hi Laura,
Using the play button within the timeline preview should allow this to happen. You can move the cue point as well and see the new spot in the video, although that does have a blip of a delay to update the video to that point.
If it all of a sudden stopped working, I'd look at rebooting Storyline, and confirm that you're working on local project files and with the latest update of Storyline!
My experience is that that feature is intermittent. I get much greater accuracy and speed from using MS Moviemaker to play the video and record the exact spots to insert the objects I need.
I'm having this same issue. The screen changes when I move the cursor through about half the video, but after that, it stops working and the screen doesn't change.
I haven't had much luck in the past with this feature either, but in this cases it means I can't add annotations which is not good!
Is there going to be a bug fix for this?
Hi Erika!
I just responded to your other post with a screen recording of what I'm seeing on my end. We can keep the conversation going in that thread, if you'd like!
