Video seek bar only works on the 1st video opened

Jan 11, 2013

I love Storyline!  Just getting started with this great tool.

Here's my question:  I have 6 .swf videos, each inserted into its own slide.  The videos were captured in Captivate 4.0 (before I had Storyline) and have been published out with a seek bar so that learners can drag to the location they need.

My problem is that the seekbar only works on the 1st video opened.  It doesn't matter which is opened first.  I tried removing the seekbar in Captivate and utilizing the Storyline seekbar.  But the Storyline seekbar just snaps back to the beginning of the video no matter where you drop it.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Judy

Hi Judy. Welcome to the community!

I'm afraid I don't have much experience with Captivate, so I may not be much help with this. However, one thing that came to mind while I was reading your post was this: You could create a screen recording in Storyline of the Captivate videos. Obviously, you would want to remove the seekbar from the video before you record, then use the seekbar in Storyline for the recorded video.

There may be a more elegant way to do this, but I thought I'd toss the suggestion out there just in case
