Video settings in Camtasia? Help me avoid fuzzy videos

Hi! I thought I learned a lot at the DEVLEARN conference, and I came home all set. Now I'm stuck ;)
I have a SL course. I need to record and import MP4s from Camtasia, where I've recorded some how to videos on my desktop. I've fiddled with the production settings a little, but the videos are 'small' onscreen in SL and a little fuzzy :(
Some details:
- The screen resolution on my machine is 1920 x 1080.
- The Story Size is 960 x 720.
- I am adding the videos and turning off compression.
I can manipulate the production settings in Camtasia: What should I be selecting?

help! Anyone?
Hi Kat,
Sorry to hear you're running into video issues! I've opened a case on your behalf with our support engineers, where you'll hear from someone on the team soon. They'll do everything they can to determine why your videos are fuzzy!
In the meantime, take a look at this article that covers best practices for working with videos. Ensuring that you have the same aspect ratio and not resizing will help your videos remain true to their quality.
Be on the lookout for a response soon!
Hi, all!
I am having similar issues with my Camtasia videos in SL. In fact, I keep getting a rolling mark that obscures parts of my video, but this only happens when I import the video into SL. In any other application, the video looks great.
Any advice??
Thanks!
Hello Crystal,
I'm happy to help!
First, we have these tips that Ren shared above to keep the quality of videos in slides: Best Practices for High-Quality Videos in Storyline 360
To help us understand the cause of the mark and look into the quality, are you comfortable with sharing a video file for testing? You can use this secure upload link, and we'll delete it after review!
Hi! I am having the exact same issue as Kat. Do you have specific actions taken in this circumstance that you could notate here, so I can apply to my project? Thanks!
Hi Crystal and welcome to E-Learning Heroes :)
Thank you for contacting us and sharing that you're running into a similar issue. I took a look at the support case that Ren started with Kat, but we did not hear back from them so I do not have any update to share with you here.
With your permission, I'd like to take a look at your project file to investigate what's happening. You can share it publicly here, or send it to me privately by uploading it here. I'll delete it when I'm done troubleshooting.
In my case I was recording at a high resolution (1920X1080) then having to smush it into my smaller story, so it got fuzzy. I found good input from Camtasia here, and using the Smart Zoom feature I was able to salvage my videos and learned to shoot in much lower res, set the canvas size to match it, then produce at that resolution, too.
Hi, Katie, thanks for your response. Unfortunately, I'm not allowed to share the video, but I did adjust my screen resolution, which seemed to help. Thanks!
That's great news, Crystal. Thanks for popping in with an update. Please let us know if we can help you with anything further.
