Audio vs Video Quality in Storyline

Jun 10, 2021

Hi there,

I've been using Storyline for a few months and noticing that when I upload audio vs. video the quality doesn't hold in the videos. I use Camtasia for all my audio, video, and screen recordings.

I have attached an example storyline file for reference of what I'm talking about. All audio was recorded on the same day under the same circumstances. Slides 1 and 2 are strictly audio files (any videos on these slides have no audio) and those audio files sound GREAT, clear and perfect. Slide 3 has audio and screen recordings that were produced in Camtasia. The audio and video quality is not up to par with the other audio that was recorded on the same day. The audio sounds echo-ey and the video looks a little blurry.

Anyone with experience uploading Camtasia content to Storyline have tips for me on how to make audio on my videos the same quality as my just strictly audio? Are there settings that I need to check when exporting from Camtasia?

Thank you!

Hello again, Patricia!

Any re-adjusting of the video size will lower the quality, so the best practice is to export the exact size you'll be using in your Storyline course.

Storyline 360 will automatically take care of optimizing video compression for you, but you can adjust that if needed.

Here's a great article that covers this in more detail: How to Adjust Video Compression.
