Problem with video audio quality when SCORMing

Nov 10, 2023

I have several Camtasia mp4 files in my Storyline course. Every time I SCORM my Storyline project, the audio quality of the videos is distorted compared to the original imported file. However, the audio quality for the rest of the project outside of the imported Camtasia video is fine.

To give more context, the audio quality sounds fine in my Storyline project. The problem only seems to occur when I SCORM the course.

I have the latest version of Storyline (updated Nov. 7, 2023) and I've already tried changing the Compression of the video to None in the video options menu.

Please help. I look forward to any suggestions to fix this problem.

Hi April,

Happy to help!

It looks like there's a possibility that the issue you're experiencing is isolated to the videos that you are creating using Camtasia. To verify if this is the case, try re-encoding your video using a tool called Handbrake to see if this helps correct the audio issues. Here's where you can download Handbrake, and this video contains instructions on how to use the tool to re-encode videos.

If the issue persists, would you be willing to share a copy of your project file here or in private by opening a support case so we can take a closer look at what's happening? We'll delete it when we're done testing!
