Video with Dialog layers and branching- Pause timeline on base layer -

Aug 08, 2023

I'm using an Articulate video to create a branching scenario and using the layers as Dialog with the pause timeline of the base layer checked.  When returning to the video though after the user clicks a 'choice A or B' the video resumes from the beginning

Rather than using this trigger:

Use "Hide this layer ... " trigger.

But that only helps for one option.  It's tough to pause a video and not restart it if you are visiting other slides while it is stopped.

Using a lightbox like the sample might work for a single choice. You can use the variable to branch in the future.

But if you are making several choices, and then branching from each of those into a series of different slides, you are going to be happiest if you cut the video into sections, with a decision point at the end of each break . Then after the branching is done, jump to the next section of the video.
