Web hooks?
Apr 29, 2016
I'm not sure what to search for or how to phrase this particular question, so please bear with me.
We are creating several modules with Articulate that we will turn over to an outside web development team. That web team is working to develop a "YouTube style" website where when one module is completed, the website can serve up related modules. We all agree that this is a great idea, however, the web development team is asking a few questions about Articulate that I'm not sure how to answer.
(1) When an Articulate Storyline 2 Module completes, does Articulate output any data, variable, etc. that can tell the web browser that the module is complete? The web development team needs something from the module to trigger the launch of the related video.
Is this possible? Does Articulate Storyline 2 do this natively, or is there something I could possibly build into the module with JavaScript to achieve this?
(2) Am I able to use relative links (/my-directory/my-file.html instead of http://mysite.com/my-directory/my-file.html) in a module? Has anyone had any success with this?
Thanks in advance?

Hi Jaemie! I do not profess to know a lot about JavaScript, but I have seen other users mention this before. Check out this forum thread and hopefully it will be able to assist you.
Thanks, Leslie. Just to be clear, Articulate Storyline doesn't generate a "course complete" message/code on its own?
Hi Jaemie!
There are built-in features that work well with LMS tracking, which is what we support, that will send completion.
As far as dissecting that information, that's out of my realm. Perhaps the debug mode information will be able to help your team understand how this works a bit better.
We're not incorporating these into a standard LMS, but I'll let the web team know that if we publish for an LMS, that info is generated. They can handle that however they see fit. Thanks!
I understand Jaemie! You could also check this article out and one of the disadvantages is loss of tracking ability. Hopefully they will be able to find a solution that works for all.
