I had a problem with a Web Object (WO). The WO (set to autoload) is on a slide layer. After pushing a button on the basic layer the WO slide layer is accessed and the WO automatically loaded. So far so good. With story.html everything worked as expected. Using story_html5.html the WO was automatically loaded when accessing the slide, so before pushing the button. Is this expected behavior with Storyline and html5? (I'm using Storyline 2).
I was able to solve my problem using a work around so no urgency here.
This sounds similar to an issue on our radar for Storyline 2. To confirm, would you mind sharing your .story project file here so I can take a look and do some testing?
You can add it as an attachment right to a comment like this:
Thanks for letting us know about this, and I'm sorry if it slowed down your authoring!
Here's the source material. I've added the .html, .js and .php files too that are used for the Web Object. They will cause an e-mail to be generated to the e-mail address the a customer enters (and to a predefined e-mail address set in the .php file).
Symptoms of the problem:
With .html and e-mail is generated and all the fields a customer has entered are populated. This is because the Web Object gets loaded when the Send button is pushed.
With html5 and e-mail is generated and the fields a customer has entered are not populated. This is because the Web Object gets loaded when the slide is accessed.
Thanks so much for sharing your file with me here.
I'm going to have one of our Support Engineers reach out to you directly to continue investigating this a bit deeper. Keep an eye out in your inbox for support@articulate.com !
I'll also be following along with your case as I'm curious of the cause here.
