I have a litte success with your file. I have studied and modified the file-
I can randome the pound value and convert to kg. But the result conversion is appeared in the wrong text field. I share my file with the community...maybe somebody need and another find my error

Here is a simple example that gets a random Pound value with JavaScript and then converts to Kilos with Storyline variables and triggers: http://dev.keypointlearn.com/xcl71_SL/Converter/V1/story.html.
