What's next for Engage in Storyline?

Aug 08, 2013

At the end of my Engage interaction (Timeline), the Next Storyline Slide button as it is supposed. However, I don't want it to go to the next slide. Is there a way to have that button jump the user to a different slide? I can't seem to be able to create a trigger for the 'Next' button' that is inside the Engage interaction. Any ideas?

Hi Larry,

If you're importing it into Storyline, you can update the player triggers within Storyline to jump to a particular slide of your choice. You'll find the player triggers on the right hand side, and when you click to edit trigger you'll be able to choose what slide it should go to. You can also disable the "Next slide" button within the Engage interaction itself by clicking on the Engage slide and up at the top you'll find the Engage Tools options - where you can remove the "next slide" button.  I've included an image of this section of the toolbar below.

Hi Larry,

Engage interactions inserted into Storyline are inserted as web objects making anything in the interaction outside of Storyline's timeline. The easiest thing to do would be to remove the next slide button in the interaction, and create a trigger for the next button that would take the user to a different slide. There are a few other ways to go about it, but it would ultimately depend on how you have your file setup.

Please let me know if you have any further questions,

Adrian
