Where are you going
Jul 16, 2015
I created this quick demo because someone asked on LinkedIn for ideas on where in the world is.... game/quiz. So here it is.
I am working on a project in which learners will go from location to location based on the directives given in a small narrative for each view. This is on top of a map of a selected area (City, Province or state, Country, Continent, World). To do this I used the hotspot quiz template, inserted the map picture as the base of the slide (if required you can modify the slide master if your base image does not change for the whole set). From there, I gave a value for scoring on the earlier frame and increased the value of each of the other frames. To make things more challenging I used the timer from the scoring setting to activate on the frames related to the quiz.
In my case, it is required from the learner to memorize specific locations previously seen in the course content. In the hotspot menu, I select not to show the mouse pointer when making the selection (which I did not do here). At the end of the quiz, the learner gets the score and also have the option to review the selected area showing where they were successful and where they did select the proper answer.
I hope you like this.

Interesting idea and a nice use of hotspots, Luc! Maybe you can also offer a tooltip after let's say 15 seconds that tells people to click on the mentioned area on the map - just in case they don't understand what's expected from them. Besides that I like it. :)
Thanks, it brings new perspectives :o)
Very cool, Luc -- thank you for sharing your contribution with the community! :)
