I have been told that you should NOT save your project to a network drive. This sounds fine, but it is not always practical. So, does anyone know why this would be so and what possible problems saving a project to a network drive might cause.
Thanks for these helpful guidelines the reason seems to be to prevent corruption, and other erratic behaviour. That all makes sense, especially with regards to USBs. Our situation requires us to work within a Citrix environment. This environment is very stable with no record of erratic behaviour. It sounds like everything should be OK to save to our designated "H" drive which acts like a local drive (but is on the Network).
That probably means that Storyline will work fine we just have to be careful in case the network goes down etc. Does that sound about right?
I can't guarantee whether that will be the case. Some people have worked via a network drive for a long time and have never had any issues. However, even more have eventually had problems, prompting the documentation.
As for the Citrix environment, please take a look at the following. I'm not saying it won't work in the environment, only that any issues that come up won't be supported at this time.

Hi Steve,
Welcome to Heroes! Take a look at the following article. It goes over the reasons why. Here are some guidelines for working on a network as well.
Always Happy to Help,

Adrian,
Yup that sounds pretty much as I saw it. Be careful, stuff might happen !
I did find the "we do not support this environment " notice and that is what prompted the post. We needed to know what we were getting into etc.
Again, thanks for the help and such focused responses.
Steve
