Where to save text for TTS apart from Notes section

Jan 26, 2024

The Notes section of my course is visible to the delegates.

I currently save the text I use in TTS in the Notes section, but I am having to change some spelling so it's voiced correctly. For example "displayed" is being voiced as "diplayed" so I will change it to "dissplayed". However, I don't want my delegates to see the fiddled/incorrect spelling in the Notes section while they are taking the course.

So, is there elsewhere within Storyline I can save the fiddled text I use for TTS please?

Thank you.

Hi Meera,

When you create the text to speech and copy it from the slide notes, you can edit the the text in the text to speech section that it copies over, and that doesn't impact what is in the notes. So when you do Insert --> Audio --> Text to Speech --> Copy from Slide notes, make any pronunciation changes in that pop-up window, and your Notes panel will remain in its original state.

Meera,

I can feel the pain. I have had to make many adjustments to get the text to speech sound OK. We now send our script out and use a voice talent to create files. Normally I will publish to WORD and have Word read it back. Then I make changes and copy and paste from Word to the text to speech box. It's more work than should be needed, but it works, and I have a record of what I have dome.

Good luck
