A want to make my own feedback layer for a multiple choice question. How does Storyline determine which textbox in the layout contains the feedback text?
go to the View tab > Feedback Master and you'll see all the layouts for correct, incorrect, try again layers. You can customise these or create a new feedback master layout and apply that to your feedback layers.
Sorry Chris not sure I understand what you mean by 'how the text boxes are connected to the feedback'. Do you have an example of what you are trying to achieve?
Hi, Chris -- Thanks for reaching out here! I agree with Wendy that it may be most helpful if you are able to share your file here so that others can take a look and get a better idea of what you are looking for. Please use the ADD ATTACHMENT button in the bottom left of the reply box. :)
here is a quick video not sure if it addresses what you are trying to do.
Are you changing the feedback master layout for the correct layer to have a customised blanket statement, and then making changes on an individual slide level? Or you want the same feedback for each question?
I attached an example (just a test). I added two feedback layouts (myFeedbackCorrect and myFeedbackWrong) and want to show the feedbacktext in the textboxes I added.
Thaks for your help!
Ps. I will be out of the office and probaly offline for the next 5 days
If you're using a custom feedback layout as shown, you'll want to look at including that text either on the master or inserting it manually once you've created the question. Based on what you showed here it looks like you've manually entered that text on the individual layers? The placeholders from your feedback masters did carry over, so you could insert the text there as well.
If I'm misunderstanding, hopefully someone else will weigh in before you come back from your time away!
I just wondered if the only way to add the feedbacktext in a textfield is to copy one of the predefined layouts and edit them or if there is a way I can add the feedbacktext to 'any textbox (placeholder) I want.
I'm still unclear on when/how you're adding it - are you placing it on your master slide layout or once you're on the individual question slides and their feedback layers? Are you trying to update it from slide view or form view? If you want to share the steps you're going through that may help us in determining a better method for you going forward or if there is just a little change to make it work the way you'd like.

Hi Wendy,
Thanks for your answer. I already did this. I just want to know how these texboxes are connected to the feedback

When I add a textbox to a blank layout, I want the feedback as defined in the formview in these new textboxes.

Hi Chris
I took a look at your file as well and wasn't sure if you wanted your text inside the red and green shapes.
Maybe when you get back if you give a little more info someone can help you sort it out.
