White buttons permanently changing color upon closing file
Mar 30, 2016
I'm working in Storyline 2 and I have a custom nav bar. My buttons are all white, but the disabled state is greyed out. My next button is set to Disabled as the initial state, and is greyed out until the end of the timeline, where it changes to Normal (which is white). I tested and published, and everything worked fine. I closed out of the file and when I opened it again the next day, suddenly all my normal states for the Next button are grey. As in the button is not white anymore. I tried to reset the image, reimport the image, and change the picture, but it remains greyed out and I can't get the white back. I have to start from scratch and put a new image in, and recode the whole thing to get it to work...and if I ever close the project it goes back to grey.
Anyone have ANY idea why this is happening? It's driving me nuts, and I have to deliver this project soon. I can't keep going back in and fixing it!

Hi Tori!
This sounds similar to this thread, which is an issue that has been reported to our QA Team.
Are you using shapes instead of the built-in buttons as well?
I'm using images, not built in shapes or buttons. Thanks for the link to the other thread though, I'll give it a look.
My work around for now is to make a gray half transparent box on top of the next button that gets set to hidden when the timeline ends. It works for now, but isn't ideal.
Interesting. Thanks for sharing your workaround as well Tori.
