Why my Text Entry default text doesn't go away once I click inside of the text boxes?

I have this slide with five text entry boxes. However, when I click inside and start typing, the default text doesn't go away. I have other slides with text entry boxes, and those do go away when I start typing.  I checked everything but can't figure out what I have done differently on these text entry boxes. Can someone take a look at my story file and tell me what's wrong with the set up?
