Wrong scene opening first

Mar 05, 2019

Hi All,

A colleague created a Storyline file that I'm reviewing.
Scene 4 appears above scene 1, and therefore opens first when published (see attached screenshot), however all the triggers suggest that scene 4 should be between 3&5 (bottom row).

Any suggestions as to what caused this and how to fix?

I've deleted and recreated all of the triggers attaching this scene to scene 1, and it's our standard layout so I'm lost.

Hi Jen,

If you select Scene 4 in the Story View, you will probably see that the Starting Scene button is highlighted blue at the top of the screen. This indicates that Scene 4 is currently set as the Starting Scene.

What you need to do is to select the scene you want as your starting scene (presumably Scene 1 in your case) and then re-select the Starting Scene button, which should then turn blue again. With your starting scene now reset, everything should be OK and Scene 4 will return to its correct position in Story View.

Remember this for the future in case you ever wish to set a scene other than Scene 1 (the default) as the Starting Scene in your courses.
