Given the issues with embedded Youtube videos, I've been loading Youtube videos as web objects. It's been working fine, until today. When I insert the URL and test the link, I get an error message saying it must be set to open in a new browser window (see attached). Not sure why this is happening. Would love some advice.
Yup - same for me with that video, but other ones from Youtube are acting normally, so I suspect that video is set up with some specific permissions/restrictions regarding where and how it can be embedded. If you're the creator of the video you may want to look at adding it in as the original file vs. linking to it as a web object.
I've done some testing and checked all the settings, and I think it's a bug in Storyline. I've downloaded the video and put it up on a new youtube channel with my default settings, and am experiencing the same issue.
Is it only those Youtube videos that you're seeing the issues with? As I mentioned I haven't run into other issues with Youtube videos - I typically grab random ones such as Sesame Street or the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon ;-) and those all work normally when added as a web object. Since you downloaded the video are you able to insert the video file directly into Storyline?

Hi Kyle,
Is this the same video you've been using? Are you able to share a link to the video here as well?
It is a different video. Here's the URL: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iLw6SxXWJp0
