It sounds like the ability to copy zoom regions from one slide to another would really help you! That's not currently a feature in Storyline, but I'll let our Product team know about your idea.
For now, I've seen folks use a rectangular shape to match the dimensions of a zoom region on a slide, and then copy that shape to other slides to use as a "guide" for creating the next zoom region. It's tedious, I know, but it will help you be more precise than just eyeballing it.
