I have just started using Storyline, and made a quick quiz slide. Wanted to publish it as a swf file, which I could share with others via Dropbox. When I publish it, I get a whole series of files and folders, which I can't easily share. Is it possible to publish an interactive "story" as a single file? I can do it with Captivate.
Thanks! Bear with me, as I am a true beginner (all of a few hours on Storyline, though more on Captivate).
Guy, I was able to see your example. And I can get that to work with a non-interactive file - and actually in that case, I just put the swf file in my Dropbox "Public" folder - not the "story" html file.
Bruce, you say "point people at the story.html file and the magic will all work". I don't know how to do that. I can put the "story.html" file in the Dropbox "Public" folder, but it won't let me put the folder with all the other files. And if I put the "story" file in, but not the others, when I share the link to that file, the user just gets an error message saying, "Could not load the file 'story_content/data.swf'" - which I assume is because the other files are not present in the "Public" folder.
OK - I think I may have it. I got it to work, though I'm not sure I understand exactly how I did it. Thanks for the help - you are very generous to help a newbie when I gather from your bio's that you are each quite experienced.

Hi Russ, its not possible to publish as a single swf
Russ,
Are you able to use a direct link to the html file? Here's an example of a published storyline course playing from a dropbox:

Hope this helps,
Guy
Hi Russ,
That's just not the way it works - it's not the same as Captivate for good reason.
You have lots of files and folders instead of one .swf, but just point people at the story.html file and the magic will all work.

Ha! Now there's something we have in common! It's a sunny summer Saturday, and I'm at my computer working on Storyline...

Glad to hear you got it sorted. As Bruce demonstrates, Articulate's products and community are best in class!
Hark, the sweet song of the siren Saturday beckons.
