A little advice please

Hi folks.

Well, due to company downsizing I just jot laid off as the e-Learning developer at my job.  Lousy time of year for it, but it is what it is.  My first plan is to create an online portfolio of my work.  I plan to include several project samples from my previous job, and a couple I did pro-bono for my church.  I managed to set up a Wordpress account so now I have a web presence, although I know next to nothing about Wordpress and how to manipulate to add Articulate items.  Anyone wish to make some additional suggestions as to what actions to take in securing a new position, or perhaps share what worked for you?  Thanks folks, and have a Happy Holiday season.
