Audio or Text?

Hi Folks,
Do you prefer audio or text to present your course content?
What is the rationale for your preference?
I've noticed in most of the Articulate examples available on the internet, much of the content is audio. Text is generally restricted to instructions. I'm wondering if this is merely to demonstrate the capabilities of the software or if the majority of course creators would choose audio as a preferred option to text.
I prefer audio for many reasons, but I want to hear what other course creators think.
Thanks for your replies.

It depends on the course.
If the course is not highly complex, I will sometimes use text on screen. The text must be short and to the point, I won't put up screen after screen of text to read.
If the course material is complex, requires explanations, or clarifications I will use audio.
Hi Cam,
Welcome to the community! Like Cary, I think it depends. In most cases, I always have some type of audio narration in my courses - that's pretty standard. As for text, I like to use "key" or "impact" statements that reinforce the points being made in the audio narration.
Hope that helps!
Tim
Definitely depends on lots of factors - but I think it's worth mentioning that anything you present in the same way over and over throughout the course, whether text or audio or anything else, is likely to become the white noise that gets tuned out.
Always smart to think of creative little ways to switch things up and surprise the learner (in good ways!) to help emphasize the points you want to drive home.
