Background and Graphics Resources

Jun 19, 2012

I am new to eLearning and want to develop a course that will be interesing and engaging.  I have been looking at courses in the Community Showcase and have gotten some technical ideas from Screener posts in eLearning Heroes and have seen some great ideas.  Some of the ideas that I like are the course backgounds that look like room interiors and some of the graphics such as desks, chairs, trashcans, etc.  I will be uisng Storyline to develop my courses and want to achieve the effect where the learner is stepping into a room or sitting at a desk.  I am looking for resources where I can find these types of graphics and backgrounds.

Hi Sheretta, and welcome aboard!

What type of coutse are you looking to create, i.e. are you planning on selling the courses, or are they e.g. for internal training?

What you are doing can hugely affect what copyright allows you to do.

Have you found the wonderful "Donwloads" area yet?

Perhaps some of these would help - http://community.articulate.com/downloads/g/graphics/default.aspx

See you around the Forums.

Welcome Sheretta!

If you haven't yet, definitely check out the downloads section Bruce linked. There are great resources in there.

I knew I had seen your question as a blog topic so I went to The Rapid E-Learning Blog by Tom Kuhlmann (If you're not familiar, he's the Articulate Community VP) and the picture below shows how I searched by topic.

That led me to some articles you may find very useful

Do you use PowerPoint 2010? This shows you how to use the editing features to remove the backgrounds from images. If you use 2007, there is a link included for that version too

You can also search the forums. There are posts full of links to places where you can find free resources for your courses or if you have a budget for resources there are recommendations for  great sites with great products.
