Is there a way to have a character in a sitting pose? I don't seem to be able to find a character in the library that has the option to have them in a sitting pose?
I'm also wondering if there's a way to have the back facing the user? For context, I'm trying to get a character from a sitting position to get up and walk through a door.
Articulate's character library provides some wonderful options. However, as you've discovered, it's not extensive enough for everyone's needs.
I suggest you check out companies whose sole purpose is providing cut-out characters (photographic and illustrated) and other assets. My recommendation for this is eLearningArt (https://elearningart.com/ ).
BTW, you mentioned "trying to get a character from a sitting position to get up and walk through a door." If you're looking to actually animate a character doing that, you should check out companies that make it relatively easy to animate illustrated characters, such as Vyond and Powtoon. (I'm sure others in the Forum could offer more suggestions.)
