Creating a multiple language course with Articulate Storyline 2

Dec 01, 2016

Hello,

Can a multiple language course be created with Articulate Storyline 2?

I do this now with Captivate 8 and it works very well using text captions and advanced options.  I would like to know the workflow for creating a multiple language option e-Learning course with a 'select language' page at the beginning and a re-set language option for going back and selecting a different language.

I appreciate your feedback here!  Thanks!

Very good thank you!  It sounds very similar to setting variables and advanced actions in the configuration process.  Do you know if a language selection page can be used then moving forward through the course?  Then a re-set variable when returning to the language select page?

I have yet to fully explore Articulate, this is one of the criteria to purchase it and share with my organization.  The look and feel of Articulate is well received.

Hi Darrell,

You can use variables in Storyline just like you can in Captivate. Storyline's triggers provide similar functions as Captivates advanced actions, but are much more flexible.

You can create a multiple language course in Storyline with no problem, but testing can be a bit of a challenge, since you can only pass one set of SCORM values to the LMS, and you must select which set to pass at development time. If you are just looking for pass/fail indications, then you can set this up with no problem. The challenge comes in when you attempt to pass the score. I use variables and triggers to accumulate the score, and then pass it with the final result slide to get the correct score for multiple quizzes to show in the LMS.
