E-learning without an LMS

Hi all! 

I work for an educational consulting company; I'm new-ish to the authoring game and would say I know enough to be dangerous, but am looking for some help! We are currently in negotiations with a client who wants an async course (we would build in articulate) but doesn't currently have an LMS and isn't interested/able to commit to one financially for just one course. Our team doesn't have its own server on which to host the content. I've seen previous posts about embedding content on a website by hosting it on Amazon's servers, but it seems that that service is no longer free (after the 12 month trial). I've looked into the free version of Thinkific and believe that might work for them, but would love to know:

1. Any free or low cost server options to host course content that gets embedded into an external website; and

2. creative suggestions you have for navigating this (or a similar!) situation. Thank you in advance!
