Hi -- I'm a newbie trying to figure things out as I go. I purchased a Flash file that I want to edit, but now I need to figure out what software I need to do that. Any suggestions? Much appreciated!!!!
To edit, you'll need the version of Flash the file was created in or newer. Flash has a learning curve and it's not cheap. You might be better off asking for some assistance. There are a few of us still around that would be happy to offer a good rate for a quick update.
The file might have some instructions with it that will tell you how to modify it. Do you know if the file uses external data to pull in the results? If that is the case, you may not need to modify the .FLA file at all, but just change out the external data.
The site where I downloaded it from says " Edited by Flash2004MX or above."
My Systems department upgraded Flash about a month ago and I found this file on my hard drive: FlashUtil32_13_0_0_214_ActiveX
If this is the software I need, I guess I'll need some training on it as I'd like to learn about this. If not, can you recommend something that I can go to my IT department with?
You need the actual Flash application executable file. When you say upgraded flash, are you talking about the flash player that runs on your browser or the Flash application? Also can you link the site where you purchased the flash file? This might help answer a few questions if I can take a look and see if there is any instructions on the webpage.

Hi Kim -
What's the extension on the file. Is it .swf or .fla?
I actually have both

I think you're right and that it's just Flash player. I'll talk to my IT department about ordering Flash Pro.
Thanks Everyone!
Kim
