Email sign up for a maths app h

Apr 23, 2015

Hi everyone,

Im developing my first maths e learning app for kids age 5-9. I want my app to be able to give an option for my users which are either parents or the kid. On the home page, kids will sign up by just giving their name and parents will have to sign up with name and email. The app will then send the childs quiz results to their parents email. How do i get the value of the textbox where the email is captured? Do i have to use javascript for this function? any inputs will be helpful. Thanks a lot!

Hi Kez!

Thanks for posting your question here in the forums! Yes, you would have to use Javascript to accomplish what you're looking to achieve with Storyline. Sending an email, and including data in it, is not a default functionality of Storyline. Sounds like you might need to do a few things here because it sounds like you want to capture two pieces of information into an email: the parents email address, and the childs quiz results. Those would be 2 different variables.

Here's a few links to help you get started:

And here are a few past community discussions about generating an email from a Storyline course with Javascript:

Hope these will help you out! Best of luck with your app! :)
