I thought I'd share this here. I was recently playing with Storyline and created a simple/cool effect for animated hover states on buttons. You can see this effect in action and download the Storyline file below. I also created a short video to show how I created this effect. Enjoy!
Good write up. We actually had a challenge on this exact same thing last year with some pretty cool examples, too. I added the link to the recap so people can check out the examples and some other relevant resources.
is there a way to make the additional animated shapes adjust with the original button shape? like, if i had to change the shape of the entire button to fit with different amounts of internal text.

I always like David Fair's examples. A few of them, like Jeff created tutorials, too and there's a download to go with it.
