Building more engaging buttons in Storyline
Feb 03, 2016
I have put together this quick video tutorial showing how to create more engaging buttons in Storyline. One interesting thing to note is that there is a bit of a trick to making the button work the way you expect the very first time. You have to create a button with a hover state, hide it off stage, and create a trigger that goes to the hover state when the timeline starts. Apparently Storyline does not render these states the first time until the first occurs...so we trick it a little. I have included the Storyline 2 files as well.
Anyone else have ideas or best practices for buttons like this?

Awesome David. I love it. Thanks
Super schweet button examples, David! Thanks so much for sharing your source file on this. I included your samples in last week's recap: https://community.articulate.com/articles/weekly-recap-2016-02-05
This is fantastic! Is this still accurate, or is there a different method now that three years has passed?
