I am creating course in Storyline and want the learners to read
through the information before they click on the Next Button. As the
Next button is already active, learners may simple click on Next without
reading. How do I ensure that the next button is active say a minute
after the learner comes up on that particular slide. Please help
Took it one step further and created a generic variable SlideComplete. Then used two triggers per slide. First trigger sets SlideComplete=False when timeline starts, second trigger sets SlideComplete=True when timeline ends.
Advantage, only have to create one variable which is very handy if you have scores of slides you need to control.

You can place an off stage object that triggers a boolean variable at the point of 1 minute (from False to True) and is used in the
Jump to next slide when user clicks next when 'variable' is true.
