I saw this example, https://elearning.space/storyline-example-2/ and I'm trying to recreate it to learn how it's put together. Specifically, as seen in the second slide, how do I have a background picture appear for a few seconds, THEN darken?
I've been learning articulate for only a few weeks, and for the last two weeks I was sick as a dog with covid, now I feel like I've forgotten everything, but i can feel the knowledge there, like it's just out of reach. It's driving me nuts.

Phil's suggestion is spot on. The simplest way to make this work is to put a semi-transparent rectangle over top of your photo and have it animate onto the slide. To make it even easier to figure out, I've attached a Storyline file where I followed his instructions for recreating that slide effect. Draw a shape with transparency over the top and use a fade animation along with timing on the timeline.
