Required instructional video creation guidance

Jul 15, 2015

Hello Everyone,

I am new to this group and new to course creation. I have many doubts and i am in need of some guidance from experts like you all. So, here is few of them.

i) I am confused about the course creation process. What is the best course creation process which will be fast, precise and easy to follow.

ii) How to go for writing script. Should i record the video first then write script or first write script then video recording.

iii) What are the best practices of course creation.

iv) How to go on script writing for my courses. What are the best practices and process.

v) Last one is, when i record and then write script, record and edit. The audio become so small and it don't go along with video and that looks so ugly. Its like the video is happening something else and i am saying something else. How to fix this.

Kindly help.

Thank you all.

HI Shubham, welcome to the community!

i) Check out this article: How to Design Your E-Learning Course Using Gagne’s 9 Events of Instruction

ii) What kind of video are you talking about? If you're talking about a screencast (where you record what's happening on your screen), there really is no right or wrong way to go about it, it all comes down to personal preference. I would try writing a first draft of your script and then recording. You'll undoubtedly realize you've forgotten some steps along the way, but you can just adapt your script accordingly once your video is done.

iii) See my answer for for i.

iv) See my answer for ii.

v) Are you talking about the volume? If so, you can adjust the volume of the audio directly in Storyline or Studio using the audio editor. If the audio is faster than the video, you can insert pauses to make it fit. If you're using Articulate Studio, check out this article to find out more. If you're using Storyline, see this article.

Hopefully that answers your questions! Best of luck.
