How do other people feel about punctuation (especially full stops) after instruction text? Do you think it looks cleaner and flows better without? Or, do you feel as though we should always be grammatically correct? I guess, as long as we're consistent, it is probably a subjective matter, but I'm curious to hear others opinions.
I'm more irritated by inconsistency than either of those options in general. I generally include punctuation because long instructions look weird without it (e.g., Choose the best option and click Submit to check your answer). If it's on a button, I can see an argument for not including periods, but if it's in a text box I prefer normal grammar.
I lean towards including punctuation. Whether it's a fully developed sentence or phrase that's part of a bulleted list, it just looks unfinished . . . like there might have been more text that should have been there but just wasn't included.
