Interactive Augmented Reality (AR)

Jan 30, 2018

Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone has used AR in an interactive way in their course development before? I was thinking of using the AR that is used for Real-estate sites that allow the user to take a virtual tour of a location, but then also allow them to locate something in the tour and select it. Is this even possible?

Doug - SL does not support AR/VR to the best of my knowledge. Unity will not work. We completed a course using Unity by bringing it in as a WebObject and then taking screen shots, doing some interactions on that screen and then continuing with the Unity. You could do something like taking a video of the walkaround (mp4) and then doing interactions. Look at HapYak as an example. There are other examples on this forum (interactive video). I am running out for a meeting now but can post two examples - not quite like your needs but they might give you an idea.

Hi Doug - Someone asked this question last year, but the latest update only says that the Articulate team is 'looking at' the progress Adobe Captivate and Lectora are making. I'm sure it's on their radar, but no updates for a future release yet.

I'm afraid you'll need many different tools and programs to do that. Like David Goodman wrote.
