Looking for Mentor in Instructional Design

Sep 20, 2019

Hi Everyone,

Really happy to be part of this community where we can share knowledge and discuss with like minded people.

I am new to Instructional Designing. But I have taken up online courses on instructional designing and have knowledge of course designing. I am working on Articulate storyline since 4 months now and fairly got an hang on all basic things that can be done with this tool. I have even learnt Adobe Captivate on trial but have no direct experience in development with it. I know to use Camtasia also.

I know no one personally who is an instructional designer and very keen to have a mentor who will guide me in my journey ahead in this field of E-Learning development and instructional designing.

Please let me know if anyone of you guys would like to be my mentor.

Thank you.

This is great Deepika, thanks so much for posting here in the community!

In the meantime - as you look for a mentor, a really great way to get yourself out there, network, and make new skills and build your portfolio is to take part in our weekly e-learning challenges. There are tons of wonderful community members participating there, from whom you can probably learn a lot. Hope this helps :) Best of luck to you!!

I would recommend, if you haven't already, joining your local ATD chapter. (http://td.org

There are a lot of great people both locally and nationally in that organization that can help mentor and they have certification programs you can take (for a fee). I'd also recommend checking out Coursera and other MOOCs that offer free university based online training. Great way to learn and meet other like minded people.
