I have a client who has requested a drag and drop activity. I don't develop these frequently so I wanted to get some feedback from the community on this.
Note: this will not be a graded question. This is simply a retention exercise. Do you think it is intuitive enough? Are the instructions sufficient to complete the exercise.
I like it... very easy to understand, and intuitive. I think the animation showing the item being dropped help with the understanding. The only thing that I would recommend, is adding a mouse pointer or finger to that demo animation, to help convey the intent. But I think it is fine on its own!
Hi, Ian! Looks great. I love the animation at the beginning!!!
I also really like the "tutorial" that you show. I feel like it lingers a bit longer than I'd like. Maybe you add a "Got it!" button that makes the tutorials go away. Also, I would suggest reinforcing what you want the learner to do by editing the on-screen text. Maybe say "Match the items by dragging..." I hope that makes sense!
Hi Ian - I like the way you add the correct answers to the boxes on the left . I agree with Tim that the tutorial takes a bit too long. I would make it optional for people who need more guidance and just put simple text instruction on the screen for those who don't.
Also, I am not sure why you need the submit button since you do not allow the learner to drop an item on an incorrect pillar. I would remove the submit button and then just have your correct feedback occur once the last item is dropped in place.
Clean design and nice interaction. I liked the tutorial idea and contrast of the Help slide. I think I will use it in my interactions :) You may want to make the icon texts bold to give some depth.

Great work. The Submit button looks redundant if the interaction doesn't allow to drag into the wrong drop receptor.
Also, if this isn't for grading, some feedback may be a good idea, that is, if it's not already in the rest of the content.
I just wanted to circle back and thank you for your feedback.
Made some of the recommended updates and showcased it to a satisfied client.
Thanks again.

Thanks Tim. Great ideas. I'm a big fan of your work. I'm looking forward to attending your session at DevLearn.
