Feedback Master Slide Issues

Feb 11, 2017

Ive created a "Pick many" free form slide. The user would click the three correct talking bubbles and press submit giving you either a correct or incorrect layer. I would like to use the layers I created separate from the ones shown on the master slide. I'm not too familar with the Feedback Master slide and I've found it more burdensome than helpful in this case. Now in this one project, I've created multiple quizzes that do use the master slide and the default responses for correct and incorrect. So I don't want to jeopardize ruining the default look of those results. How can I have it so that this one quiz displays the layers I created specifically for this one slide??? Or if I use the quiz am I forced to use the Feedback master slide results?

Also: How can I pick and choose which master slides apply to the quiz results? Going to the feedback and branching section DOES NOT give me the option of choosing one of the multiple master slides.

Hey Nancy!

Thanks so much for taking the time to reach out here. I took a look at your course and I wasn't able to locate the slide you're referring to specifically but hopefully I'll still able to provide a little insight here. Each slide in a course is individual from each other, even if you use the same Slide Master. If you make edits to the correct/incorrect layers on one slide itself, not the Slide Master, it won't carry over to all the other slides. It will only change the current slide that you're editing. So for instance: on your Correct layer for slide 1.63, if I were to move the "Correct" box to a different location, when I go to slide 1.64 the location of the "Correct" box on that slide will not have been effected. I put together a quick screen recording to illustrate what I'm describing which you can take a Peek at over here

I hope that helps clarify a little but please let me know if I've misunderstood your question at all.

For your second question, to change the layout for an existing slide in your course, you can do any of the following, depending on your current view:

Slide View:

  • Go to the Home tab on the ribbon, click Layout, and select the layout you want to use.
  • Right-click anywhere in the slide workspace, scroll to Layout, and click the layout you want to use.
  • Right-click the slide thumbnail in the Scenes panel, scroll to Layout, and click the layout you want to use.

Story View:

  • Select one or more slides. Go to the Home tab on the ribbon, click Layout, and select the layout you want to use.
  • Select one or more slides. Right-click the selected slides, scroll to Layout, and click the layout you want to use.

This tutorial is a great guide for working with Slide Masters. I know that working with them can get a little confusing, so definitely let me know if I can clarify anything further! :)
