Multiple Layout Masters - when coping slides from colleagues

Ok, I am working on a "Huge" course with multiple colleagues..

Here is the challenge, If we share a layout "Copy and Paste" for example... to save time and keep each module consistent, I also get their layout masters.

 

So now, I have multiple masters... which requires me to clean them out and that is if I can locate theirs, If I cannot located it and purge it I will inadvertently apply a layout from their master layout...   It is a struggle to  locate the odd layouts and delete them.

 

To resolve this...

 

• I named my master
•  Then I placed a colored character on the odd layouts as a visual queue, in an attempt to locate them... this only works if there is nothing covering my visual queue or hiding my character.

 

So my questions, is there a way to suppress other layout masters?

 

Just a suggestion, I would be GREAT! if when you hover over the list of layouts it would tell you exactly where the layout is used slide #. Storyline 2 tells you how many slides use the layout but NOT the "slide numbers" that are using the layout.

 

We are extremely limited on development time so I can't spend the time necessary to clean out all the stray layouts, very frustrating!

 

1. Can anyone tell me the best most effective way to apply a single slide? and ,
2. How do I get rid of all the extra layout masters?
