Next button not working on preview or output

Jan 18, 2017

Hi guys, first post...I've been rebuilding this over and over for 2 days now...you're my last hope :-)

I've made a slide that has 4 shapes that (when dragged to) another shape it reveals a layer description. This part works perfectly (I've attached the slides here for a view). My problem is that my next and prev buttons don't work. I've had them working intermittently, but for the most they don't work. I have tried:

1.Using convert to freeform and setting the items to drag and drop. Using the submit interaction button and showing a success layer (which shows) but again the 'continue' button on this layer doesn't work. I've tried with and without the feedback setting, and my activity is set to 'user can skip/not required' as its not a marked element of the course, merely an interaction

2. Using convert to freeform and selecting a hotkey question, so when they have accesses and read the 4 layers, then 'Enter' key moves them on - no joy

3. changing my variable triggers and adding additional "only if true" elements to my next button - no joy

4. not using the built in nav and adding my own button that only shows once all 4 variables are true (button shows but slide doesn't move on)

My attachment has 2 different ways that I have played with the trigger/states builds for review - if someone solves this I'll pay in hugs and reeces peanut butter cups. Any suggestions on how to get my slide to progress?

Hi Steve,

Well, who can resist Reese’s peanut butter cups? ;)

I reworked your file a bit – please see attached – and it seems to work ok now. I removed the big white rectangle and instead made your intro text into a separate layer (which disappears after 3.5 seconds). [On that intro layer, I hid the objects on the base layer (to do this, you click on the layer „Introduction“ and then click on that little cog wheel that appears (i.e. properties)]. I also added a trigger, so that the Intro layer only appears at the beginning if all four variables (MFORT, MCOMPANY, NNECT and NVERSATION) are equal to false. That way, when the user clicks the „next“ button at the end, they just go back to the „What we represent“ slide, without the Intro layer appearing again.

So, it seems to work now. When the user presses on the „next“ button, they go to the purple slide. (I therefore removed your original second slide, since it didn’t seem necessary now.)

I hope this helps! Please let me know if anything is unclear.

Best wishes,

Anne
