Pausing audio and hiding text when user moves mouse "object loses focus"

Hi
We have vimeo videos as a iframe within our courses. we have audio instructions to watch the video.
If the learner clicks the element, and the video starts, the audio will also play concurrently.
without putting the video on another layer, how can we pause the audio if they do click it (this instruction audio can be up to 13 seconds, and i don't want learners to be forced to wait unless they want to!)
