I want a meter to show ongoing performance results of learner's answers to multiple quizzes that are spread throughout a branching lesson. The more they get correct, the more the arrow points them to the green. The less they get the more the arrow points to the red.
A) Create a number variable (say meter ) with initial value 0. B) Create a trigger on your feedback masters to add 1 to variable meter when a question is correct, and subtract 1 to variable meter when incorrect. C) Create a shape/graphic (or whatever you think works best) with states for 0 -1 -2 -3, 1 2 3 etc.
D) On the base layer create triggers in the form of : Change state of element to "-1" when timeline starts if variable meter is -1, etc. E) Use those triggers on every slide containing questions.
Unless your scenario is more advanced (i.e. your users are allowed to revisit questions), this should work.
What kind of options are you looking for? Something internally in storyline? Flash based? Web Based? I have a project in mind that's currently in the back burner of implementing something like this (a guage chart) to show progress in a cbt. I was thinking of doing it in flash, but I also wanted to try it with javascript. But this wouldn't be hard to do internally in Storyline, it just won't be as smooth.

Walter,
What exactly do you want/need this meter to do or show?

Hi Walter,
You can use a single number variable for this.
Hope this helps,
Alex
