Printing results from a workbook style e-learning package

I'm creating a workbook style e-learning package where delegates answer questions in free text boxes. As it is a workbook, the answers should be their own thoughts rather than checked against specific answers as would be necessary with quiz slides, but I want them to be able to print their answers for later reference. I think the way to do this is to create a JavaScript trigger that collates the variables and prints them, or sends them to a text/pdf file, but I don't know a lot about how to write JavaScript, and any help or advice would be appreciated!
