Hi - I will soon be working with developers that use Storyline, but I also have developers that use Studio 13. Is it possible to run both programs on the same machine?
Thanks Michael. Did you have to get a 'super-powered' machine to run them both effectively? What are the tech specs on your machine?
I just have a 'run-of-the-mill' laptop with Windows 7 Premium, Intel Core I7, 8GB RAM. I often work with large Storyline files (>300 MB) and have no real complains.
I also run both simultaneously with no performance issues. PC is an i5 (overclocked to 3.4GHz), 8Gb, SSD, Win 7 Pro 64bit with a Radeon HD 6870 card. Laptop is similarly specced but with an i7 Ivy Bridge processor. The former is very capable on a day-to-day basis but the laptop is super fast.
One thing I learned a couple of years ago is that working with lots of big image files inside Storyline or Presenter can really bring things to an unbearable halt, e g large background images + multiple characters + other images on multiple slides. This is why I complete 95% of image editing in other tools before compressing and bringing into a course.
Paula, I am also running both on a Intel i7 laptop but have 16G RAM. I rarely run into problems even with multiple applications open. I do recommend what Simon suggests about working with images just to keep files sizes down.

Have you any machines to test both on?
