Seek Feedback: A multi-language workplace safety training

Oct 02, 2023

Hello, everyone! I've created a multi-language workplace safety training program. This is my first attempt at developing training in multiple languages, and I incorporated techniques mentioned in this article, along with others I learned through trial and error. I would appreciate your feedback on this project.

As there is some JavaScript code involved (xAPI and the certificate download functionality), I have published it as a web page. You can experience this project by visiting the following link: https://storyline360-yanqiuli.s3.amazonaws.com/Workplace+Safety+Training_v6/story.html.

Thank you!

Hi Jo,

Thank you for your feedback. I placed the hotspot above the pile of paper for the fan. Regarding the boxes, did a question pop up when you clicked them? Or are you saying that you cannot return to the office layout after you've finished all the questions in that scene? Also, did you choose English as the language? Once again, thank you for your valuable feedback. I will troubleshoot the issue.

Hi Jo, thank you for your feedback. I checked the accuracy of the learning record store, and I found that you have correctly answered all three questions. Therefore, did you mean that the "Done" button didn't work when you tried to go back to the office layouts? Once again, thank you for taking the time to experience the project and sharing your feedback.

Hi Yanqiu,

Nice design! I love how it is set. You did a great job! Here is my three suggestion that might make it even better.

  1. When Paul is introducing himself. I thought my speaker was off cause I saw he is talking but I hear nothing. If there is no voice over maybe an image is better than a talking animation? Or if you can add voice over in, it will be better.
  2. In Open workspace 2, Chinese version, I click on the correct choice for books near a output, I will get a green check but text shows incorrect.
  3. It will nice if the selected option shows different color. I'd like to view what choice I made when feedback shows.

When I clicked the done button it just said that I hadn't found all three, even though the obstructions had all been moved.

Hi Jo,

Thank you for figuring it out. I noticed that sometimes this error appears, but at other times, it doesn't. I will do some troubleshooting to resolve this. Thank you for your valuable feedback. : )

Hi Joanne,

Thank you for your valuable suggestions.

1. I agree that the talking animation can cause confusion. I will try using a voice-over if time allows. Using a static image seems like a straightforward solution to this problem. If time doesn't allow, I will adopt the second option.

2. I will fix that. Thank you for pointing out the issue.

3. Using different colors for the correct choice is a good idea; I will try to make that adjustment.

Once again, thank you for putting in the effort to provide your constructive feedback. It is valuable and helpful.

Hi Yanqiu! 👋 Thank you for sharing such an inspiring example! I love how you included the different languages and gave the learner the freedom to explore the different rooms while also providing clues. So many great ideas in here!

It looks like you're already getting some helpful feedback from the community, but I just wanted to share one minor tip. When I clicked the "x" icon to close the hint layer, I sometimes missed the click because the x part is transparent. I like to add a solid shape behind the circle x icon, then group it and add a trigger to close the layer. That way, the entire x icon and circle are clickable. Anyway, great work! Can't wait to see more examples you create. 🙂

Hi Sarah,

Thank you for your positive feedback and the great suggestion. I understand that the small transparent icon can possibly frustrate and confuse the learners. I have replaced the original one with a non-transparent one. Thank you so much!!!
