Slide Layers Triggered by Markers & Allowing User to Click on Base Layer to Close Current Layer

Apr 25, 2017

Hello! I am really struggling here! I am hoping someone can help!

I have created a few markers and tied triggers to them to show specific layers. What I am trying to do is allow my users to click on the marker to display a layer. Then, I would like them to be able to click anywhere on the base layer to hide that current layer. I don't want them to have to click a "Close" or an "X" to hide the layer.

According to my understanding of the Lynda.com video on slide layers, I should just be able to leave the box unchecked that says "Prevent user from clicking on the base layer" and this should allow the user to click on the base layer. I have all of the properties set like this for my layers. Yet, when I preview the slide and try to click anywhere on the base layer my layer doesn't hide like it shows in the Lynda.com video. Right now they are being forced to click another marker in order to hide that current layer, and that is not what I want.

Am I missing something?

Your insight is much appreciated!

Hi Angie,

I believe you are clicking the base layer in your interaction. It's just there are no triggers to hide the layers tied to it.

I would try to add a hotspot below the markers that hides all of the layers when clicked.

(see attached)

Hope this is helpful, please let us know if you have further questions!
