Stumbling through my morning reading I ran across this gem. If you're looking for symbols or icons in the "road sign" style - The Noun Project contains plenty of free resources.
Noun project is very cool. I've been using them for a while and find they're updating often enough to keep me coming back. Only wish they offered formats other than .svg. Not the easiest for everyone to work with.
