I have a course where I ask the learner to enter their name so it can be used throughout the course. However, if they don't enter their name it just shows nothing. I wanted to create a trigger to produce a message when nothing is entered into the text box. What trigger variable would I use in order to trigger a msg if the text box is left blank?
Here's a simple solution that may help. What I have done is to set a trigger to change to the next slide when the Next button is clicked, provided the text entry in not equal to blank (the same trigger could also be used for the built-in Next button if you weren't using custom buttons). I have also included a second trigger that changes the state of a caption from Hidden (initial state) to Normal when the Next button is clicked, provided the text entry is equal to blank. The caption provides the reminder to enter your name.
