Translation Exercises for a virtual course

Nov 01, 2013

Hello everyone,

I just joined the site.

I am creating a virtual course for learning translation but I need exercises for advanced learners.

Any ideas?

Hi Odette!

Welcome to the community, and thank you for sharing your question here in the forums!

Can you give a little bit more details about the course... What kind of content does it include.... You say the course is about translation? What type of translation? If you're teaching someone how to translate content, it would seem that exercises that make the learner actually translate content might be helpful?

Personally, when I create exercises, I like to try to think about the scenarios or real-life situations that the learners will find themselves in when they will need to apply the information they are learning in the course, and then figure out a way to incorporate that into the exercise.

You might also want to check out the community showcase area to get inspired by some really cool e-learning courses!  Check it out here: Articulate Community Showcase

Hope this helps! =)

If you give a bit more details about the subject matter, the community might be able to help you out a little bit more!  Thanks, Odette! =)

Hi Odette,

Happy to reply, and happy to help you out with this. Thanks for sharing a bit more information about your course! Can you perhaps share one of your slides (you can attach the .story file to a comment here in the forum by clicking the "Clipart" icon above the text box area). If you cant share the .story file, maybe you can provide a screenshot of what one of your slides looks like? Maybe then we can  help you figure out specific ways you can improve the instructions for your exercises.

Thanks!
