What difference does my desktop screen resolution make? Issue with screen recording using 2nd monitor

Jul 16, 2018

Hi,

I have 2 questions:

1) I use a laptop with a second monitor, both set to a screen resolution with 1920 x 1080 pixels. When I'm trying to record a screen  with my updated Articulate Storyline 360, using my second monitor for the screen recording, I have half the screen cut off, please see screen shot attached. On my main screen / laptop this doesn't happen. Please can you help?

2) What difference does it make for users when I do screen recordings using a lower desktop screen resolution, for example 1366 x 768, compared to creating screen recordings at a resolution of 1920 x 1080 ?  In both scenarios with the story size in articulate set to 860 x 620.

Many thanks in advance for your help with this.

Jenn

Echoing the thank you, especially to Jennifer, for this post and guidance regarding monitors set to different percentages. I was at a loss for how to remedy the odd results I was observing with 'Record Screen' in SL 360 and Replay (namely, mouse clicks being "off" and captured screen area not matching up with what was within the recording window). I set both monitors / displays to 100% and re-recorded without issue. The Articulate Community always saves me time and headaches. Thank you!
